Funding and Sponsorship
The group builds its funds and uses them very carefully. While most events are self-funded or supported by external donations larger amounts are needed to cover such things as the hiring of the meeting hall, supporting special group events and occasionally to sponsor related cancer programmes.
The RPCSG is extremely grateful to all who have made donations to the group to help continue its work. As well as donations from individuals and group members, we have received significant donations from the Lions Club of Woodley and Earley, Waitrose Community Matters, Reading Football Club and John Lewis.
Many members of the group prefer to focus on 'Awareness' issues rather than directly raising funds using collection boxes and the like. This approach works well as the Reading Prostate Cancer Support Group remains solvent yet very active.
